WE BELIEVE

Fellowship Oshawa adheres to the statement of beliefs as set forth by the Canadian National Baptist Convention (CNBC). The statement of faith in its full can be found at this link.

In short,

We believe that there is one God Who has and always will eternally exist in three Persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the Holy Trinity. He created everything that was made. We affirm that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are equal and of the same substance.

We believe that the condition of mankind is such that sin has separated us from a right relationship with our Creator. We affirm that all men and women are born into sin which results in both a physical death and a spiritual death.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man, that He lived a perfect and sinless life on earth, and that He was crucified by Pontius Pilate for the forgiveness of our sins.

We believe that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead three days later, and that He is seated at the right hand of God and will return again to judge the world and gather His saints.

We believe that a man or woman is saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. One must turn from their sins and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation from the punishment of sin and the gift of eternal life.

We believe that Heaven and Hell are real places and that every individual will spend eternity in one or the other. Those who have trusted in Jesus Christ will go on to spend eternity in heaven while those who have rejected Jesus Christ will spend eternity in hell.

We believe in the personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal felicity of the righteous, and the eternal punishment of the unredeemed.

We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: a covenant between one man and one woman, in a single exclusive union, by which their status changes from two individuals to one flesh as God joins them together.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
